The Soviet report from Rechitsa
During his division's stay in Rechitsa, in October 1941, Fisher served as a motorcycle messenger. One day he was sent from the radio station premises located across the Dniepr to the division headquarters in the town of Rechitsa. At the Dniepr crossing he noticed a group of Jews consisting of two men, three women, and four children who were planning to cross the Dniepr. On his own initiative, together with the driver of a car who happened to be nearby, he began to check these people's documents. As soon as he realized that all of them were Jews he shot to death the 19-year old girl in the group with his rifle. The other eight people were murdered by the driver, whose identity is unknown.
