In early September 1941 Jewish men who were able to work were forced to gather in one of the buildings in the industrial area of Rechitsa. Then they were marched west of the town to the murder site located near the cemetery, 2 kilometers away from the town. There the victims were shot to death by German soldiers and local collaborators. Estimates of the number of the victims range from 200 to 216. The bodies were later buried in an anti-tank trench.
