According to some testimonies about 40 Jews from Borovaya who had been arrested in late September or early October 1941 by local Ukrainian auxiliary policemen were taken toward the town of Vasilkov, about 15 kilometers east of Borovaya. The deportees never arrived, but were shot on the way by auxiliary policemen.
