Murder Story of Vyazma Jews at the Vyazma Jewish Cemetery

Various Soviet documents report that some Jewish doctors were shot to death, either as members of the intelligentsia or as Jews. Dr. Meir Birstein, together with other Jews, was shot on February 25, 1942, while Dr. Mikhail Nurok was shot in September 1942. All the [remaining] Jews of Vyazma was murdered, a number of them with particular brutality. Several victims were buried alive. Most of the shootings were apparently carried out at the Jewish cemetery. The precise number of victims is not known.
