Murder Story of Yuzvin Jews at the Former Military Barracks in the Yuzvin Area

On March 2, 1942 German rural policemen, apparently assisted by the local village elder and auxiliary policemen, gathered about 100 Jews of all ages and both sexes in the village of Yuzvin and took them half a kilometer to the area of a former military barracks. There in the forest the victims were shot to death at two pits by German security policemen, apparently from the Vinnitsa office of the Security Police, and SD-men.

From a statement of residents of the village of Yuzvin to the executive committee of the Yuzvin rural council:
…On March 2, 1942, at dawn, a unit of German gendarmes and Gestapo-men from the city of Vinnitsa arrived in the village of Yuzvin. They summoned the village elder and demanded that he show where the Jews were living. After gathering all the Jews, the gendarmes took them to the forest in the area of a former military barracks, situated half a kilometer from the village of Yuzvin. There all the 97 civilians were shot and buried in two graves in the same location…

On March 2, 1942, at dawn, a group of 60 gendarmes and Gestapo-men arrived in the village of Yuzvin. They gathered all the 97 Jews…and took them to a forest in the area of a former military barracks, 1/2 kilometer from the village of Yuzvin, and then shot and buried them there….
