The Soviet report about the mass murder of the Jews from Novo Mirgorod near Martanosha village
In 1943 [sic] on two occasions the German police drove 230 civilians of Jewish origin [from Novo Mirgorod] and shot them to death at the edge of a ravine in Martanosha village. While being driven there and before being shot, the victims underwent terrible torture and abuse. Among those murdered were old people, women, and children. Yekaterina Brailovskaya, who was born in 1914 and survived the June mass murder, testified:
"In the evening of June 27, 1942 the police arrived at my apartment by truck and began loading onto it my children -- age one to seven - only because their father was of Jewish origin. The executioners brutally abused the innocent children, took them by the legs and threw then into the body of the truck like logs. The same way other children were loaded together with mine. Then they were taken to Martanosha village and shot to death there. Some time later they also shot my husband, the father of these children."
