In late 1941 40 Jewish men from Pogrebishche were driven out of their houses and told that they going to be sent to work. They were taken to the Polish cemetery on the town's outskirts and shot dead in a ravine. The perpetrators of this massacre were apparently members of Einsatzgruppe C and local auxiliary policemen.
