In 1942, apparently in October, a number of Jews from Dzyunkov were brought to the county seat Pliskov and shot, apparently together with local Jews, at the animal burial ground near the Fruzinkovskiy Forest. The perpetrators of the massacre were members of the German rural police and local auxiliaries.
Fedot Pereyma, who was born in 1891 and lived in Dzyunkov during the war years, testified:
… I know that in 1942, during the German occupation, Pliskov County police headed by Kinkel and members of the gendarmerie headed by Schuster carried out the shooting of 94 Jews of the innocent population of the village of Dzyunkov.... The… shooting was partly carried out in the town of Pliskov….
Mariya Mazur, who was born in 1917 and lived in Dzyunkov during the war years, testified:
… I know that in 1942 Pliskov County police headed by Kinkel and members of the gendarmerie headed by Schuster carried out the total annihilation of the innocent Jewish population of the village of Dzyunkov. Some of them were shot in the town of Pliskov....
