According to one testimony, in 1942 a group of Jews – mostly artisans and able-bodied men, who had been kept alive in Annopol for work – were transported to the ghettos of Slavuta and Shepetovka. The trucks were not large enough to accommodate all the deportees, and the Jews left over after the deportation were shot dead near the local clinic.

Antonina Tomasevich, who was born in Annopol and lived there during the war years, testifies:
…The Jews who had been left in Annopol were eventually driven out of the village. Some of them were taken to the Slavuta [Ghetto], while others were sent to the Shepetovka [Ghetto]. Still others, for whom there was no room in the packed truck, were shot dead near the clinic in Annopol.….
