On September 26, 1941 12 Jews of Khorly, including four children, were taken 1 kilometer northwest of the locality to a pit and shot to death. The perpetrators of the murder were apparently members of Sonderkommando 10b of Einsatzgruppe D.

…On this day the Commission carried out an examination of the sites of atrocities committed by the German-Fascist occupiers. The examination established the following:
12 skulls were found during the excavation of a grave 1,200 meters northwest of the port of Khorly. According to the testimony of a resident of Khorly port named Nikolai Sotnichenko, on September 26, 1941 12 Soviet Jewish civilians, including 4 children age 4-15, were shot at the location where the bodies were found. The shooting was carried out by an SS murder squad….
From the Testimony of Nikolai Sotnichenko, who was born in 1911:
…On September 26, 1941 Germans from an SS unit arrived in the port of Khorly on motorbikes. They rounded up 12 Soviet Jewish civilians, including 4 children age 4 to 14, and shot them outside Khorly. The translator of the German commandant's office, whose last name I do not know, participated actively [in the execution], finishing off the wounded Soviet civilians with a Finnish knife.
QUESTION: How did you learn that an SS unit shot the Soviet civilians?
ANSWER: I saw this with my own eyes....
