In November 1941, two Jewish families of Kalanchak, the Eliashes and the Vasermans, numbered 8 people, among them 4 children, were murdered and buried in the village, in the courtyard of the house of a local auxiliary policeman named Odarik, who most likely was the perpetrator of the murder.

… On this day the Commission carried out an examination of the sites of atrocities committed by the German-Fascist occupiers. The examination established the following:
