Murder story of Rozvalina Jews in the Rozvalina Ravine

On September 30, 1941 21 Jews living on the Rozvalina Farmstead, including three families of refugees from Bessarabia, two families of deportees from Varvarovka, and a Jew from Nikolayev were taken from the farmstead by Romanian policemen and, after being brutally abused, were shot to death in a ravine.

… On September 30, 1941, during Romanian rule [occupation], 21 completely innocent residents of the Rozvalina farmstead, whose bodies were found in a ravine on the Rozvalina farmstead…, were brutally tortured to death by Romanian gendarmes. The following was discovered by exhuming the bodies: the bodies of the murder victims were disfigured, the bones of the limbs were broken; finally, their death was caused by bullet wounds in the head. The list of victims identified is attached below: …3. Semyon Vayerberg, a resident of the city of Nikolayev 4. Nyuka [? probably Nyuma] Groyeman and [his] family, a total of 4 people, resident[s] of Bessarabia 5. Gersh Shmalevskiy and his family, a total of 3 people, [residents of Bessarabia] 6. Mekhel [apparently Mikhl] Eydelman and [his] family, a total of 2 people [residents of Bessarabia]....
