In April 1942 a Krymchak family named Valit was shot to death by a German murder squad one kilometer outside the village. The victims' bodies were thrown into a nearby well.

I must add that …. the Valit family was shot to death not on February 5th [1942] but in April 1942, during the daytime, at about 12 noon, 1 kilometer from the village, their bodies were thrown into a well.

... Later, in April 1942, also during the daytime, about 1 kilometer from the village the following civilians of Krymchak nationality were taken [out of the village] and shot to death: David Valit, Yefrosia Valit, Raya Valit, Sofia Valit, Vladimir Valilt, Isaak Valit, Zhorzch Valit, and Yosef Valit, born in 1926, [the last one] was taken by the Germans to Karasubazar....
