On September 18, 1941 Jews of Chkalovo (Yudendorf) were among about 400 Jews of Frayleben rural council who were assembled at Frayleben and then taken to a well 6 kilometers from Ydendorf (Chkalovo) where they were shot dead, their bodies thrown into the well.
From the ChGK Report about the German Atrocities in the Frayleben Rural Council:
… On September 18, 1941 …the entire Jewish population of the Frayleben rural council numbering 416, was collected in the school building, [then] taken to the well [6 kilometers from Chkalovo (Yudendorf)] and shot. Their bodies were thrown into the well. The shooting was carried out by Germans, while the bodies were thrown into the well by [the locals] Fedor Vakka and Naum Kostyuk…
