Murder Story of Frunze Jews at the Burat Well

... On July 22, 1944, we the undersigned … confirmed the fact that on January 1942, 17 people of Jewish nationality were shot by a German fascist murder squad in Frunze village…. The people were shot and thrown into a well located about 3 kilometers north of the village. The well's depth was 70 meters. The commission believed that it was impossible to open the well, therefore, it photographed the murder site and the well....

... At the end of February 1942, I don't remember the exact date…, at night, the Germans took all the Jews to the old Burat well, about 3 kilometers from our village and shot all of the 17 people. At about 11 a.m, I saw a local policeman … carrying the clothes of the murdered Jews…. The Germans warned all of the local population not to say that the Jews had been shot but rather that they had been taken for work; otherwise, they [the local residents] would be shot. That's all I know....
