At least 3 Jews from Mashevo were taken by Germans in vehicles to the nearby village of Buka in October 1942 and shot there.

Yakov Koshtan, who was born in 1906, testified:
… In October 1942 three civilian residents of our village were shot
Question: Who shot them, who were these residents , and what was the reason for shooting them?
Answer: They were shot by an SS murder squad. I am not certain why they were shot, [apparently] because their nationality was Jewish.
Question: Do you know who these residents were, their surnames, first names, and their patronymics?
Answer: 1. Golda Borisovna Katzman; 2. Riva Katzman; 3. Boris Katzman.
Question: Under what circumstances were they shot?
Answer: A murder squad came to our village. Apparently someone informed them that some Jews were living in our village. They were put into a vehicle, taken out of the village, and shot….
