
The victims were buried in a mass grave. The murder operation was carried out by the German Sonderkommando with the participation of Ukrainian police. The number of victims is estimated at 960 (different sources indicate that between 600 and 1,000 Jews were killed).
Together with the Jews of Pikov, the Jews of Kalinovka were also murdered here.
Ukrainian police roamed the area in search of Jews who had evaded the first killing operation. The Germans and Ukrainians carried out a second mass murder on June 6, 1942, at the same site.
A third murder operation took place on June 11, 1942. Among the victims were members of the ghetto underground cell. Germans and Ukrainians committed the killings.
Altogether 120 Jews were murdered in the last two operations.
