עדותם של גרישה ווינשטיין ובוריס ברוור על PANEVEZYS
… The final liquidation of the town took place on August 24-26, 1941. Close to the airport in Pajuoste ... At the murder site, the mass graves were already prepared: four of them 100 meters long, and eight smaller ones, 50 meters long. All the Jews, without distinction, were ordered to undress and, group by group, shot by machine gun [Lithuanian]. The eminent Doctor Gutman, who was in the last group, spoke words of comfort to the wretched victims, and when he handed over a coat in which a large some of money had been sewn, urged a Lithuanian guard, “My friend, you will have [money] for the rest of your life, so be sure that your shot succeeds!”
