...[O]n November 23, 1941 a German murder squad consisting of 8 Gestapo men arrived by car in Amansha village. On the orders of the Gestapo men the entire Jewish population of the village, numbering 188 people, was rounded up. After forcing all the assembled inhabitants into a column, the German monsters took them to an abandoned well outside the village. There a brutal massacre was carried out. The Hitlerites shot the defensless Soviet civilians in groups and threw their bodies into the well. Even the children were not spared. Citizen E. Voskoboynikova left her nursing baby at home. The German henchmen did not put the child into its mother's arms but threw him to the ground and shot him at point-blank range, after which they threw the baby's body into the well.
