Murder Site
Liaudiškiai Forest
Lithuania
On August 25 1941 the remaining Jews of Šeduva were loaded onto trucks and taken to Liaudiškiai, ten kilometers southwest of the town, where the Rollkommando [led by Joachim]Hamann of Einsatzcommando 3 and Lithuanian collaborators from the 3rd Company of the Tautinio Darbo Apsaugos Battalion were waiting for them. In the course of the following two days the entire Jewish community of Šeduva was shot and buried in two mass graves that had been prepared with enough space to contain the bodies of 664 men, women, and children. One site was located 400 meters north of the Šeduva road and the second 900 meters northwest of the road, close to a path in the forest. The Jaeger report concludes that Einsatzcommando 3recorded the murder in Šeduva on August 25-26, 1941 of 230 male Jews, 275 female Jews, and 159 Jewish children -- a total of 664 people.
