On September 3 (in October, according to other sources), 1942 the Jews of Kotsyukovich were rounded up by local auxiliary policemen. They were told they were going to be resettled in Palestine, but were taken toward the Kommunary railway station. Near the station they were driven into a swampy area, at a place called Gorelyy Pen. There the Jews were ordered to dig a grave, then to undress to their underwear and lie face down in the grave. After that they were shot. Little children had their spines broken and were thrown into the grave alive. The number of those murdered was 380 (or 451, according to another source).

From unpublished documents assembled for the "Black Book"
The extermination of the Jews from the town of Kostyukovichi took place under the command of Gestapo chief Weide and commander Seidel. The doomed ones were taken outside the town to a swamp. There 250 people were killed. The Jews had to dig their own graves. Afterwards the Germans forced all the people to undress and, then, they divided the clothes up between themselves. Infants were torn from the arms of their mothers; babies' spines were broken by a blow from a knee or by being smashed against a tree. In the grave 30 bodies of children under five years old were discovered - their backbones were broken. Old people unable to walk were brought by cart and thrown into the grave alive....
