In Gorki in September 1941 the Germans rounded up a dozen Jewish men, whom they accused of sabotage. The Jews were taken by truck to the village of Bystroye near Gory and were shot to death there.

... In September [1941]... 12 or 13 men who were prominent Jews in the town were rounded up and, after being falsely charged with burning down a haystack belonging to the kolkhoz, they were loaded onto trucks and taken to Bystroye village near Gory, where they were shot....
