Shortly after the occupation of Teterin by the Germans, the Jewish men of the town were taken by local policemen to the bank of the Drut River, tied together in groups of three or four, and thrown into the river to drown.

Valentin Vishnyakov (born in 1946) testified in an interview with Ida Shenderovich and Alexander Litin in 2008:
... I was born in Teterin. My grandmother told me that, before the war, our village had been a Jewish town. There were several Jewish shoemakers' workshops in the middle of the town. During the war, all the Jews were murdered. She said that, in order to humiliate the Jews, the [killers] lined them up and forced them to fill a tank with water from the river using only spoons. Grandma said that the Jewish men had been divided into groups of three or four, tied together at the hands, with their backs to each other, and thrown into the river. This was done by the policemen....
