Zasulye
Ukraine (USSR)
Prior to the Russian Revolution, Zasulye lay outside the Pale of Settlement, and Jews were not allowed to live there. In the 1920s, it became a district town. In 1926, Zasulye was home to ninety Jews, out of a total population of 7,018. Zasulye was occupied by the Germans on September 10, 1941. In all likelihood, all of the town's remaining Jews were shot along with the Jews of Romny in November 1941. Zasulye was liberated by the Red Army on September 5, 1943.
