Sitkovtsy
Ukraine (USSR)
The first Jews apparently settled in Sytkovtsy in the mid-18th century. Under Soviet rule, most local Jews were employed at the town's sugar mill. In 1939, Sytkovtsy was home to 217 Jews. The town was occupied by the Germans on July 23, 1941. In August 1942, a murder operation took place in the area, claiming the lives of 106 Jews from the county. Sytkovtsy was liberated by the Red Army in mid-March 1944.
