Rubezhnoye
Ukraine (USSR)
Since the Rubezhnoye County had lain outside the Pale of Settlement prior to the Russian Revolution, Rubezhnoye was home to relatively few Jews, compared to other settlements in the Voroshilovgrad District. In 1926, there were only five Jews in Rubezhnoye. By 1939, that number had grown to 355, out of a total population of 21,995.

The Wehrmacht occupied Rubezhnoye on July 10, 1942. German troops and local policemen shot at least a dozen Jews at the local chemical plant.

The Red Army liberated Rubezhnoye on January 31, 1943.
