In 1926 there were 455 Jews living in Sokolov. Before the war the majority of its popular were Jews. The village was occupied by German troops in early July 1941. The Jewish men were shot in the village separately from the women and the children. The women and children were murdered outside Sokolov in the area of the pine tree plantation. The village was liberated by the Red Army in late December 1943.
