Godykha

Community
Godykha
Ukraine (USSR)
There is little information available about the Jewish community of Godykha prior to the war. The village was occupied by German troops around July 7, 1941. Apparently, some Jews managed to flee. The remaining ones were shot in the vicinity of the village in the fall of 1941. Soviet documents report that, in the winter of 1942, a Jewish woman from Godykha and her two children were captured in hiding and shot in the prison of the nearby town of Romanov. Godykha was liberated by the Red Army in early January 1944.
