Belilovka
Ukraine (USSR)
The first Jewish settlement in Belilovka is mentioned in the early 18th century.

In the end of the 19th century Belilovka's 2,223 Jews constituted approximately 46 percent of the total population.

In 1918, during the Russian civil war, Belilovka suffered from pogroms during which several Jews were killed or wounded. By 1939 the number of Jewish residents of the town had declined to 633 or about 11 percent of the entire population.

On July 16, 1941 German forces captured the town.

The majority of the Jews of Belilovka succeeded in fleeing or being evacuated to the east.

The Germans established a local police force and indoctrinated its members in regard to the "Jewish question." The local police force and the Germans robbed the residents the town. Most of their victims were Jews. Residents who did not hand over their valuables to the authorities were often beaten to the death. After two days of German occupation, a Sonderkommando arrived in Belilovka. On the 8th or 9th or 10th of Sepember (according to different sources), 1941 750 to 850 Jews were shot to death near the Rostavytsya train station.

The Red Army liberated Belilovka on December 30, 1943.
