Tishkovka
Ukraine (USSR)
In 1939 the 138 Jews of Tishkovka comprised 2.25 percent of the total population. The village was occupied by German troops in early August 1941. About 30 Jewish families remained in the village. These Jews had to wear a yellow Star of David armband and to register with the local German authorities on a daily basis. Almost all of them were shot to death in the winter of 1942 in the vicinity of Tishkovka. Tishkovka was liberated by the Red Army on March 13, 1944.
