Jews started to settle in Bolshaya Aleksandrovka in the mid-19th century. In 1939 111 Jews lived in the village, comprising 2 percent of the total population. Bolshaya Aleksandrovka was occupied by German troops on August 28, 1941. In September several Jewish families of Bolshaya Aleksandrovka who had not managed to escape were murdered in the vicinity of the village. Bolshaya Aleksandrovka was liberated by the Red Army on March 12, 1944.
