Dmitriyevka
Ukraine (USSR)
Jews first settled in Dmitriyevka at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1897 about 440 Jews lived in the village, where they comprised the vast majority of the population. Their main sources of income were petty trade and crafts. Under the Soviets many young Jews left the village for big cities. In 1939 the 196 remaining Jews comprised 4.5 percent of the total population.

Dmitriyevka was occupied by German troops on September 14, 1941. Only a few Jews succeeded in leaving. The remaining Jews were murdered by Germans between September and October 1941.

Dmitriyevka was liberated by the Red Army on September 14, 1943.
