Naydorf
Russia (USSR)
Naydorf ("new village" in Yiddish) was a Jewish agricultural settlement established in the 1920s or 1930s. In the 1930s it had a kolkhoz where most of Naydorf's inhabitants worked. There was a Jewish school for the area, with Russian as the language of instruction. In 1932 48 Jewish families lived in Naydorf. Most of the villagers suceeded in leaving before the arrival of German forces. In December 1941 or in 1942 the remaining Jews, about 40 people, were murdered several kilometers outside Naydorf and at the Karpiy wells near Icor village. Naydorf was liberated by the Red Army in April 1944. In 1948 the village was renamed Shishkino.
