Before the war a few Jewish families lived in the village of Shchetinka. Some members of those families left the village for towns or cities. The village was occupied by the Germans in August 1941. The Jews of Shchetinka were murdered in the winter of 1942, together with several Jews who had escaped the mass murder in Staroselye. .
Shchetinka was liberated by the Red Army in June 1944.
