The Jews settled in Daraganovo (Doroganovo) at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1930 eight Jewish families were working on a kolkhoz named Chervony trudavik, that was established in 1925. Approximately 80 Jewish families were living in Doroganovo on the eve of the war.

The Germans occupied Daraganovo at the end of June 1941. In the fall of that year a kind of ghetto was set up on Pesochnaya (Peschanka) Street. The Jews of Daraganovo were killed in two murder operations in the fall of 1941 and the spring of 1942. In January 1943 children of mixed marriages who were found in Daraganovo were shot to death.
