In 1946, the Jews who returned to Ternovka erected a stone memorial at the site where their loved ones had been murdered and buried. The memorial bears the following inscription in Russian and Yiddish: “Here lie 2,300 Jewish civilians—children, women and the elderly—killed by the German-Fascist occupiers on May 27, 1942 and April 2, 1943.”
