Veisiejai - Commemoration of Jewish Victims

Shortly after the war the few survivors of the towns from which Jews were taken and murdered on the Katkiškės estate set up a monument to commemorate the 1,535 Jews from the Lazdijai area murdered at the site.

Natives of Veisiejai living in Israel established a memorial for their relatives at the Chamber of the Holocaust on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.

Felix Zandman, a Holocaust survivor and an important inventor and industrialist, founded an electronics company that he named Vishay [Yiddish name for Veisiejai] in memory of the Jews of the town where his grandmother Tema Freidovich had lived.
