Mudde, Jacob Anthonie & Adriana Johanna Cornelia Apolonia (van der Beek) When Salomon and Davida Gersons were about to be deported, they asked their friends and neighbors Jacob and Adriana (Jane) Mudde to take care of their baby, Marion. The Muddes agreed and Marion was brought to their house on June 3, 1943. The couple was later denounced for sheltering a Jewish child and arrested together with the baby on April 11, 1944. Jacob Mudde died in a camp near Hamburg on November 12, 1944, and Jane was held in the Ravensbrück and Dachau concentration camps. She survived but remained in ill health after the liberation. The baby and her parents perished in the camps. On July 15, 1981, Yad Vashem recognized Jacob Anthonie Mudde and his wife, Adriana Johanna Cornelia Apolonia Mudde-van der Beek, as Righteous Among the Nations.
