Kikkert, Hendrik & Maria Elizabeth (Veldmeyer) Hendrik and Maria Kikkert were farmers in Nieuwlande, Drenthe. Hendrik was active in the Resistance and during the war they hid Lou Gans under the name Herman and a young Jewish boy, who survived the war in their home. Hendrik later became a member of the Dutch Parliament, representing the Christelijk Historische Unie (CHU). Hendrik was related to the other Hendrik Kikkert*, who was also active in the Nieuwlande-based underground movement. On March 4, 1985, Yad Vashem recognized Hendrik Kikkert and his wife, Maria Elizabeth Kikkert-Veldmeyer, as Righteous Among the Nations.
