Poel van der, Wouter Meus & Clasine Maria (Fleur)
Wouter Meus van der Poel and his wife, Clasine, from The Hague, South Holland, were related to the van de Bols*; Woutje van de Bol and Meus were first cousins. Both families were involved in the underground. Meus supplied people in hiding with food coupons and was always searching for more hiding places for Jews. When he was arrested by the Germans and imprisoned in the Oranienburg concentration camp, the Jewish girl hidden in his home had to relocate. She was taken to the van de Bols, where she joined Henny Roos (later Philipps) who was already hiding in their attic. The girl and Henny survived the war in hiding, never going out into the street.
On June 27, 1985, Yad Vashem recognized Wouter Meus van der Poel and his wife, Clasine Maria van der Poel-Fleur, as Righteous Among the Nations.
