Kozlovskiy, Konstantin Kozlovskiy, Gennadiy Kozlovskiy, Vladimir Konstantin Kozlovskiy lived with his teenage sons Gennadiy and Vladimir on an isolated farm, 11 km from Nowogródek (today Navagrudak), on the road to Lida. During the German occupation, his home became a way station for Jews that escaped from the Nowogródek ghetto and were on their way to join the group of Jewish partisans under the leadership of the Bielski brothers located in the Naliboki forest. Jewish men and women, mostly young, started escaping from the Nowogródek ghetto and the labor camp after the second large-scale Aktion, carried out on August 7, 1942. The small groups of escapees came to the Kozlovskiys’ farm and hid there, sometimes for one day and sometimes for a week, until the Bielskis’ partisans came to pick them up. Among those who found temporary shelter with the Kozlovskiys were Dov Kohen, Michael Zamkowy, Jehoshua Oppenheim, Herzl Nuchimowski, Jakov and Jocheved Abramovich, Jehuda Slutsky, and many others. While hiding at the farm, the Jews were provided with food and other necessities. Kozlovskiy and his sons tried to lift their spirits, and offered encouragement. After the liberation, on July 9, 1944, the Jewish survivors moved to Poland and from there immigrated mostly to Israel or to the United States. Konstantin Kozlovskiy remained in Belarus. Until his death in 1982, he exchanged letters with some of those who he had helped to survive. On December 22, 1993, Yad Vashem recognized Konstantin Kozlovskiy and his sons, Gennadiy and Vladimir, as Righteous Among the Nations.
