Shortly before the war, Rzepeckis - Stanisław, Apolonia and their oldest son Apoloniusz - lived in Lwów and were old friends of the extended Migden family. The families stayed in touch during the occupation and when the Migden’s were interned in the ghetto, the Rzepeckis helped them obtain food. In 1942, Shimon Migden and his wife, Amalia, along with their son, Karol, and Shimon's brother, Salomon, fled from the Janowska camp, where they had been interned. They found shelter with the Rzepeckis and eventually were joined by Josef Lebwhol and Henryk Kocowski. All six of them spent nearly two years hiding in the Rzepeckis’ apartment until the liberation in the summer of 1944, with the Rzepeckis meeting their needs from their earnings as unskilled laborers. The Rzepeckis risked their lives to save the Jewish refugees for no material reward. The living spirit behind the rescue operation was Apolonia Rzepecka. After the liberation, when Ukrainian nationalists murdered her husband, Stanisław, Salomon Migden - who had survived the war with Apolonia’s assistance - married her and the two of them settled in Israel.
On July 29, 1968, Yad Vashem recognized Stanisław Rzepecki, his wife Apolonia Rzepecka Migden, and their son Apoloniusz Rzepecki as Righteous Among the Nations.
