Jeziorski Władysław Jeziorska Anna Jeziorski Marian Jeziorski Władysław (son) In July 1944, when the “Hermann Goering Werke” steel factories in the Starachowice labor camp, in the Kielce district, were about to be evacuated due to the advance of the Soviet front, Abram Szajner escaped from the camp. After reaching the nearby forest, Szajner met up with Arie Lustgarten, who had already escaped from the camp, and the two hid in the forest. At first, the two Jewish refugees tried to find shelter in one of the nearby villages, but when this failed, they returned to their hiding place in the forest. With the approach of winter, however, Szajner fell ill. Just when everything seemed lost, the refugees met Marian Jeziorski, a young peasant boy, who took them home to his parents, Władysław and Anna Jeziorski, who lived with another son, Władysław, in the village of Wierzbnik, in the Kielce district. Despite the danger, the Jeziorskis took them in, and arranged a hiding place for them in an outhouse on their farm, where they watched out for their safety and saw to their needs. Lustgarten, who looked Jewish, stayed with the Jeziorskis until the area was liberated by the Red Army in January 1945. After Anna nursed Szajner back to health, Szajner left the Jeziorskis to join the local partisans of the Armia Ludowa, with whom he stayed until the liberation. After the war, Szajner immigrated to Israel, while Lustgarten immigrated to Colombia. Both kept up contact with their rescuers’ sons. On July 18, 1967, Yad Vashem recognized Anna and Władysław Jeziorski, and their son, Marian, as Righteous Among the Nations. On June 4, 1989, Yad Vashem recognized Władysław Jeziorski (son) as Righteous Among the Nations.
