Janusz Twornicki
Twornicki, Janusz During the war, Janusz Twornicki lived in Częstochowa. In early 1942, he found his way to Otwock, near Warsaw, to visit friends who lived in the local ghetto. At that time he met David Krymołowski who asked him to leave his address and telephone number. Shortly prior to the liquidation of the Otwock ghetto, David, his wife, and two sons managed to get to Warsaw, and from there, David phoned Janusz and told him that in a few hours they would be in Częstochowa. Janusz waited for them at the railway station and greeted them warmly. After a few days, he drove them to the countryside where he had a friend who was a manager of a sawmill; he introduced them as refugees from Warsaw. The Krymołowskis stayed for some time in the countryside and then moved to Częstochowa. Janusz maintained steady contact with Krymołowski and invited him to his house, where he introduced him as a pre-war friend. After the war, the Krymołowskis immigrated to Israel. On April 4, 1967, Yad Vashem recognized Janusz Twornicki as Righteous Among the Nations.
