Przybyszewska Albina (Majcherowicz); Husband: Przybyszewski Dionizy

Righteous
Przbyszewska-Kusek, Albina Przbyszewski, Dionizy Albina and Dionizy Przbyszewski, lived in the village of Stydyn, near Kostopol, in the Volhynia district, and even before the occupation had been friendly with Jewish families in the area. In the spring of 1943, after the Germans liquidated the Jews of the area, Albina and Dionizy Przbyszewski gave asylum to a Jewish family of their acquaintance. Nationalist Ukrainians discovered their presence, and after luring them out of their hiding place, murdered them together with Dionizy Przbyszewski. Albina, who managed to escape, was saved from the slaughter. Afterwards, she decided to leave her home and volunteer, together with her mother and two young daughters, for work in Germany. At the collection point in the city of Sarny, not far from Kostopol, Przbyszewska met Ita Sheinis, who was among the Jews that had hidden in her home and had also been saved from the slaughter. Sheinis and her friend Batia Becker volunteered for work in Germany under assumed identities as a way to save themselves, and when Przbyszewska noticed them, she immediately took them under her wing and registered them as two sisters with her surname, introducing them as her cousins. Przbyszewska and the two Jewish fugitives left for Chemnitz in Germany, and there they lived as one family and worked in the kitchen of a German hospital for two years. Everything Przbyszewska did to save Jewish lives was motivated by her love of humanity and altruism, for which she neither asked for nor received anything in return. After the war, Becker immigrated to Israel and Sheinis immigrated to Canada. Przbyszewska, later Kusek, immigrated to the United States, and the two women she had taken under her wing kept in touch with her for many years. On August 25, 1988, Yad Vashem recognized Albina Przbyszewska-Kusek as Righteous Among the Nations. On February 11, 1999, Yad Vashem recognized Dionizy Przbyszewski as Righteous Among the Nations.
