Mulder, Geesje (Luchies)
Jetta de Groot-van der Heiden was married to a Dutch officer, who in October 1942 was in England while their children had already been sent into hiding at various addresses. In 1943, after hiding in various places for short periods of time, Geesje Mulder, a poor widow living in Eindhoven, who had eight adult children, took in Jetta. Jetta stayed with Geesje for a year and a half, until the liberation. She remembered two other Jewish fugitives in the house and others have testified that Geesje sheltered them for varying periods of time. Those Jews whom she rescued referred to Geesje as Moeke (Mom) and described her as a wonderful person whose motives were humanitarian and religious. Geesje charged only a small sum for each person who hid with her, both Jews and non-Jews.
On October 26, 1981, Yad Vashem recognized Geesje Mulder-Luchies as Righteous Among the Nations.
