Dijk van Geertruida (Nooter)

Righteous
Dijk van, Geertruida Maria (Nooter) When Elza and Emiel Polak and their family were summoned for deportation to the east, their acquaintance Frans Hinlopen* refused to let them go. Because Frans’s wife, Dina, had been arrested after Jews were found hiding in her house, Frans decided to find the Polaks shelter elsewhere. Elza was taken to Geertruida van Dijk-Nooter and Emiel hid with Kleijs and Henriette Kroon*. Both of them stayed in these homes for two years, until the end of the war. On June 26, 1980, Yad Vashem recognized Geertruida Maria van Dijk-Nooter as Righteous Among the Nations.
