Bomans, Godfried Jan Arnold
When In March 1944 Hans Lichtenstein had to leave his hiding place with Mari and Nettie Andriessen* he was offered shelter by Godfried Bomans, a well-known Dutch writer and a bachelor. Bomans, from Haarlem, North Holland, was well acquainted with the Andriessens. While staying with Godfried Bomans, Hans slept on the floor, fully clothed, using his overnight suitcase as a pillow until May 1945. Relations between the two men were good and remained so after the war.
On April 28, 1986, Yad Vashem recognized Godfried Jan Arnold Bomans, as Righteous Among the Nations.
