Bomans, Godfried Jan Arnold When In March 1944 Hans Lichtenstein had to leave his hiding place with Mari and Nettie Andriessen* he was offered shelter by Godfried Bomans, a well-known Dutch writer and a bachelor. Bomans, from Haarlem, North Holland, was well acquainted with the Andriessens. While staying with Godfried Bomans, Hans slept on the floor, fully clothed, using his overnight suitcase as a pillow until May 1945.
