SPRENDLINGEN, Hesse, Germany. Jews were living there from 1765, established a community in 1831 and numbered 112 in 1871. The Nazi boycott of April 1933 forced the majority of the 107 Jews to leave before Kristallnacht (9-10 November 1938), in which their synagogue was destroyed. A total of 57 Jews emigrated and 20 moved elsewhere. The last 16 were deported in 1942.
