845 photographs of Jews from Radomsk, taken before the war
The collection has approximately 800 passport photos of Jews who resided in Radomsk before the war.
Included in the collection are group photos of youth movements that were active in the city of Radomsk and group photos of residents of the city, from before the war;
Before the World War II, approximately 6,500 Jews resided in Radomsk - nearly one-third of the population. The Jews worked in industry, commerce, as artisans, and in the free professions. There were branches in Radomsk of all the Jewish political parties and youth movements that were active in Poland between the two World Wars. Also active in the city were Jewish professional and trade organizations, and two Jewish banks. The Jewish educational institutions included: two elementary schools, a Jewish high school, schools established by "Hamizrachi" and "Agudat Israel", as well as two private schools that closed before the war.
